Leadership Reflection paper

Q Module Four explored Path-Goal Leadership and Leader-Member Exchange and the impact on the motivation of followers and organizational performance. Path-goal leadership examined leadership behavior to support a follower’s goal achievement. Whereas, Leader-Member Exchange theory considered leadership behavior from a relational perspective. As you reflect on Module Four, the readings, videos, and discussion, respond to the following questions: What is one take-away from readings, discussions, assignments, and videos? Take the LMX 7 Questionnaire and choose to respond as a leader or follower. If you are responding as a leader, you will identify your leadership style in relationship building. If you choose to respond as a follower, you will identify your leader’s style in relationship building. What did you learn about your leadership style or your leader’s style? As a follower can you identify closer to an in-group or an out-group? Why? Reflect on your personal experience and provide an example of a relationship with a leader and share your level of respect, trust, and obligation and identify the level of exchange.

In this module we learned about the way the way that a leader guides his/her follower and how they get motivated by the small steps that have been taken by the leader in order to motivate them. I was very interested in learning the Leader-Member Exchange theory for as a leader I too would like to focus on the relationship which is the core of everything. I am not going against Path-Goal Leadership theory
